At 2Hawk, spring is a time for looking forward—both to the potential of a new growing season and the anticipation of our semiannual wine club release. Every May and November, wine club members enjoy first access to our latest wines. This spring, we’re thrilled to announce the release of four remarkable new wines that reflect the maturity and unique terroir of our vineyard.
2Hawk Spring 2021 Releases
2020 Sauvignon Blanc
Our 2020 Sauvignon Blanc may just be our best to date, thanks in no small part to our finely honed approach to vineyard management through continuous soil moisture monitoring. A perfectly timed irrigation event in the midst of the August heat allowed an additional two weeks of hang time, permitting the fruit to fully ripen without compromising the delicate balance between sugar and acidity Sauvignon blanc demands. The result is a wine that’s proudly 2Hawk, with aromas of pink grapefruit, lemongrass, and white peach followed by flavors of quince, sweet cantaloupe, and tangerine. A greater proportion of barrel fermentation lends this wine a pure, silky texture. Enjoy now through 2024.
2020 Grenache Rosé
With delicious fruit coming from the Padigan Series soils in our Grenache block, our 2020 Grenache Rosé needed no intervention. A cool finish to the ripening period preserved the natural acidity and balance of the fruit, yielding a wine that needed little other than monitoring after pressing the juice off the skins. Like all 2Hawk wines, our 2020 Grenache Rosé was fermented with our naturally present vineyard yeasts, which resulted in a textural sweetness underpinning the aromas as well as flavors of ripe raspberry and crushed red currant. The wine evolves from a softly fruity start to a delicate-yet-effortless finish. Ready to enjoy now through 2022.
2018 Tempranillo
Our Block 2 Tempranillo planting—with its vine material originally sourced from the Toro region of north-central Spain—continues to produce fruit with exceptional balance, defined by a combination of dried ripe black cherry and dusty, mouthcoating tannin. The result is a wine with generous body and length on the palate. A deep, intense finish with black raspberry, dark chocolate, espresso, and vanilla bean hints at this wine’s cellaring potential. Best enjoyed from 2022 through 2030.
2018 Darow Series Malbec
Private Tastings for Members
In past years, we’ve hosted a private release event each spring and fall. This year, to ensure the continued safety of our guests and the 2Hawk team, we will be offering private tastings to our wine club members. At each private tasting, we will serve our new releases as a flight paired with small bites prepared by a guest chef. Reservations will be available Wednesday, May 26, through Sunday, June 6. Wine club members will receive an email with additional details soon.
